Here at eatsleepthink we are very passionate about our sports. In fact me (Matt) and Mike Marshall (Creative Director) are keen Sheffield United supporters. I have noticed, ever since my interview, that there are designs of Captain Blade dotted around the studio, of you who don't know who Captain Blade is, he is the mascot of Sheffield United FC. The other week we were having a chat "on our break of course" about Sheffield United and Mike told me about the new screen that's at Bramall Lane, and when we score a goal (which isn't very often!) an animation of Captain Blade comes up onto the screen. Mike designed this for Sheffield United. So I was sat in the ground at the weekend thinking about this, hoping that we would score a goal so I could see the animation in action on the screen. Time passed on, I was starting to think that I'd have to wait until next season to see it. Finally we scored a goal and I was stood there waiting in anticipation. Once the animation finished I was just about to look away, and then a message came up stating that this was created by eatsleepthink design limited. This was a great feeling mainly because the of the fact the animation produced by us at eatsleepthink was on show in front of 26,000 people, and I was able to say to people around me "that was designed where I work". At the end of the day football is big business nowadays, so if you are employed to do work for a club you know you are doing something right. Capping off a great day along with the win!
And just for you here are some pictures showing the different stages of the production of the animation. Right at the bottom is the actual animation that is displayed by the big screen.
